How To Qualify For Disability Access At Disney World

Disability Access allowed for a more enjoyable time at Disney World for those with mobility issues.

HERE’S how to qualify:

Making a visit to Disney World can be a magical experience for families and individuals, but it can also be challenging for those with disabilities. However, Disney World offers several programs and services to help guests with disabilities have an enjoyable and comfortable visit. Here's a guide on how to qualify for disability access at Disney World.

Understanding the Disability Access Service (DAS)

The Disability Access Service (DAS) is a system that helps guests with disabilities wait for attractions with limited wait times. This service can be used in addition to the standard FastPass+ system and allows guests to enjoy attractions without having to wait in long lines.

To qualify for the DAS, guests must be approved by a Disability Access Service Cast Member. This is done by visiting a Guest Relations location in one of the theme parks.

Eligibility for Disability Access Service

To be eligible for the DAS, guests must have a disability that affects their ability to wait in a traditional queue. This can include conditions such as autism, mobility impairments, cognitive disabilities, and other disabilities that make it difficult to wait in a queue.

Guests who use mobility devices such as wheelchairs, electric convenience vehicles (ECVs), and scooters are also eligible for the DAS. In these cases, guests will be able to bypass the queue and wait in a designated area.

What To Bring To Qualify For Disability Access Service

To qualify for the DAS, guests must bring a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport, and proof of disability. This can include a disability identification card, a doctor's note, or a statement from a qualified medical professional.

It's important to note that Disney World reserves the right to request additional information or documentation to verify the guest's disability.

Benefits of Disability Access Service

Once approved, guests using the DAS will be able to bypass the queue and wait in a designated area for each attraction. They will also receive a return time for each attraction, similar to the FastPass+ system. This allows guests to enjoy other attractions or activities while they wait.

In addition to the DAS, Disney World also offers several other services and accommodations for guests with disabilities, such as assistive listening devices, audio descriptions, and sign language interpretation.

Enjoying a More Accessible Experience at the “Happiest Place on Earth”

Disney World is dedicated to making the park experience enjoyable for everyone, including guests with disabilities. The Disability Access Service (DAS) is a great resource for guests who have difficulty waiting in a traditional queue and want to enjoy the attractions with limited wait times. By understanding the eligibility criteria and what to bring to qualify, guests can make the most of their visit to Disney World.
